The San Diego Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is one of four regional organizations of the California Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, under the umbrella of the larger national organization.
President's Message
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I, Divya Krishnamoorthy, am excited and honored to serve as President for our local San Diego Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
I received my training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City, lived and worked in the states of Pennsylvania and Washington, before moving to San Diego in 2012. I immediately found my professional community through SDACAP and have been associated with the Executive Committee as Treasurer-Secretary and President-Elect over the past 4 years. I have been working remotely from my home office for the past decade across various counties in California at community health centers. I have been an early adopter of tele psychiatry since 2010 soon after AACAP developed practice guidelines. I see private patients virtually in California. I work at Chadwick Center at Rady Children’s Hospital as part of their Trauma Recovery Program.
I am grateful to our Past President Charmi Rao Patel, for her outstanding leadership and growing SDACAP to its capacity as it stands today. We are a robust organization thanks to her and other Executive Committee members who work hard to sponsor and organize local conferences, CME activities, events to support early career psychiatrists and trainees and advocacy efforts.
I hope to continue her legacy and foster a culture of growth, camaraderie and transparency.
I enjoy traveling the world, particularly on wildlife conservation trips, with my husband, a pediatric neuroradiologist and teenage daughter. My cute labradoodle Pluto is my constant companion at home and during work with my patients virtually.
